What It’s Like to Take a Trail South Tour: BBQ, Campfires, and Coastlines

Vibe: Real talk, low pressure, maximum adventure

I like driving places most other people don't care to go.

They fly over it.

Rush through it.

And some are adventurous enough to even drive a few hours out of town to stop at a Cracker Barrel, snap a photo of a tree, and call that a road trip.

Trail South is the opposite of that.

It’s a way to actually get to know and feel where the road can take you — the food, the people, the culture — and to do it with support and on your own terms.

🛻 So What Is a Trail South Tour?

Simple.

We connect Truck and RV owners with folks who want to Rent them and go on trips, and we also offer guided RV road trips from California to the Gulf Coast, Atlanta and the Desert of the South West (or sometimes the other way), with:

  • Campgrounds pre-booked ✅

  • Meals and activities lined up ✅

  • Options to bring your own rig or rent one of ours ✅

  • Me (or someone I trust) leading the way ✅

You get the adventure without the chaos.

You drive.

You vibe.

You eat good food, see wild places, and if something breaks — we got a jack and a backup plan.

🐾 Can You Bring Your Dog?

If your co-pilot is a dog like mine — absolutely.

Kala’s been with me across 30+ states.

She’s inspected more campgrounds than most humans.

The Trail South stops are dog-friendly, with grass, shade, trails, and time to breathe. We don’t roll 12 hours straight unless there’s a damn good reason (and even then, we stop for snacks).

🍖 Campfires. Cookouts. Real Food.

Some nights, we hit a Trail Partner restaurant — southern BBQ, seafood shacks, dive bars that know how to fry catfish without ruining your stomach. Other nights, we cook together (if you want to join, no obligation, we all like alone time) with fire pits., folding chairs, and cold beer. Some of the best convos I’ve had were next to a grill with strangers-turned-friends and a poodle under the table waiting for scraps.

Depending on the tour:

  • We stop in New Orleans, Lafayette, Dauphin Island, Lake Charles, and other places you might not have heard of - but deserve to be discovered by you.

  • You can hop on a boat tour, visit an aquarium, or sit on the beach and do nothing

Want to fly home after?

Take the train back?

You can.

We include a flight or train ride back in some packages.

🧰 Don’t Have an RV?

That’s cool. We’ve got you.

You can:

  • Rent a full setup (truck + trailer) from us

  • Drive your own truck, and we’ll provide a camper

  • Or just bring your rig and vibe — it’s cheaper and you’re still in the loop

If you’ve never towed before, I’ll give you a quick walk through and we also have a Towing Onboarding session available to practice before the trip.

🎯 So Who’s This For?

Trail South is for:

  • People who want to see America slowly

  • People who stop for views, rivers and historical landmarks

  • People who love campfires more than resorts

  • People who hate airport stress and going where everyone else goes

  • People who appreciate small businesses and tasty cuisine of all varieties

✌️ Ready to Ride?

The next tour's coming up soon.

You can bring your own setup (Truck and Trailer), or rent one from us.

This isn’t a tour bus thing.

It’s exploring America and eating, seeing and doing the best of everything while your home on wheels goes with you.
